Polk County (trfnews.i234.me) – A St. Cloud woman is facing multiple charges, including felony first-degree DWI, after deputies say she was caught driving 103 miles per hour on Highway 2 in Polk County with cocaine in her system.

According to a criminal complaint filed in Ninth Judicial District Court, the incident happened on July 23, 2025, when Polk County Sheriff’s Deputy Dylan Van Der Stad clocked a blue BMW traveling at 103 mph in a 65-mph zone near Highway 32.

The driver was identified as Crystal Dawn Charging Eagle, 44, who reportedly admitted to using cocaine and alcohol the day before. Deputies say she appeared nervous, had watery eyes, constricted pupils, and exhibited lethargic speech.

Charging Eagle’s driver’s license was canceled as inimical to public safety, and she was restricted to driving only vehicles equipped with ignition interlock, which was not installed on the BMW she was operating. Deputies also noted she had multiple prior DWI convictions, including incidents in South Dakota and Minnesota between 2023 and 2024.

She now faces four charges:

  • First-degree DWI – Any Amount of Schedule I/II Controlled Substance (Felony)

  • Driving After Cancellation – Inimical to Public Safety (Gross Misdemeanor)

  • Violation of Restricted Driver’s License (Gross Misdemeanor)

  • Driving Without Ignition Interlock (Misdemeanor)

If convicted on the felony count, Charging Eagle faces up to seven years in prison and a $14,000 fine. The case is filed under 60-CR-25-1182 in Polk County District Court.
