Minneapolis, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – Authorities in Minneapolis are investigating a domestic-related shooting that left two siblings dead and their mother wounded early Tuesday in the Windom neighborhood of south Minneapolis.
Police responded to reports of gunfire at 12:30 a.m. on July 22, 2025, at an apartment in the 100 block of East 59th Street. Inside, officers found a man and woman in their 20s dead and another woman in her 40s suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to Hennepin Healthcare, where she is expected to survive.
Investigators believe the man fatally shot his sister and wounded their mother before dying of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police described the incident as a “heartbreaking tragedy” that destroyed a family.
“This appears to be a heartbreaking tragedy that has destroyed a family,” Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara said in a statement. “While the investigation is ongoing, our hearts are with the surviving family members as we work to understand what occurred.”
Authorities have not released the names of those involved. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the official causes of death. Police are urging anyone with information to contact CrimeStoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
