East Grand Forks, Polk County (trfnews.i234.me) – A Grand Forks man with a prior DUI has once again found himself in trouble with the law after East Grand Forks Police pulled him over for erratic driving — and discovered his blood alcohol content was more than three times the legal limit.

According to a complaint filed in Polk County District Court, Peter Jacob Larson, 39, was stopped around 11:30 p.m. on July 2, 2025, after an East Grand Forks officer spotted him failing to signal and not stopping at a clearly marked stop sign. The officer also noted the vehicle’s registration had expired.

When approached, Larson exhibited slurred speech and the odor of alcohol. After admitting to having a “couple beers,” he failed multiple field sobriety tests and blew a shocking .26 BAC on a preliminary breath test. He later told officers, “I already know I’m too drunk to drive.”

Larson, whose license was previously suspended following an August 2023 DUI, was arrested and now faces the following charges:

  • 3rd Degree DWI – Gross Misdemeanor

  • Driving After Suspension – Misdemeanor

  • Failing to Signal Turn & Stop at Sign – Petty Misdemeanors

His blood was drawn under a search warrant after he couldn’t perform a standard DMT test due to a tongue piercing.
