HART TOWNSHIP, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me) – A frightening crash in Winona County sent one woman to the hospital after her vehicle rolled over and became engulfed in flames.
On the afternoon of July 2, 2025, 60-year-old Sandra Kay Kauphusman of Winona was traveling north on Highway 43 in a 2002 Toyota 4Runner when she lost control, left the roadway, and the SUV rolled over onto its roof, then burst into flames.
Despite not wearing a seat belt, Kauphusman survived the crash with non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Saint Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.
The crash occurred under dry road conditions, and alcohol was not involved. Responding agencies included the Winona County Sheriff’s Office, Rushford Fire & Ambulance, and Mayo 1 Air Ambulance.
