Grand Forks County (trfnews.i234.me) — A Moorhead man is now facing serious drug-related charges after a traffic stop on Interstate 29 led to a troubling discovery.
On June 13th, a North Dakota Highway Patrol officer pulled over Scott A. Fashingbauer near Grand Forks. During the stop, a search of the vehicle revealed 20 capsules of gabapentin, a prescription drug commonly used for nerve pain and anxiety, but illegal to possess in this quantity without proper authorization.
Officers also found THC vape cartridges, a small amount of marijuana, and a bottle of urine, which authorities say may have been intended to falsify a drug test.
Fashingbauer has now been charged with:
-
Felony possession with intent to deliver gabapentin
-
Misdemeanor fraudulent practices in urine testing
The case highlights a growing trend of prescription drug abuse and drug test manipulation in the region.
