Head-On Horror: Fatal Highway 65 Crash in Isanti County Leaves One Dead, One Injured

Isanti County (trfnews.i234.me) — A devastating head-on collision occurred on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at approximately 3:52 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 65 and 305th Avenue NE in Isanti Township. A 2005 Toyota Corolla, driven by 69-year-old Martin Leo Zaworski of Rush City, was traveling southbound on Highway 65. Simultaneously, a 2021 Ford F-150, operated by 60-year-old Mark Wayne Norberg of Cambridge, was heading northbound when it crossed over the median and collided with the Toyota.

Zaworski sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital. Norberg suffered non-life-threatening injuries and declined medical treatment. Zaworski was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash; Norberg was. Alcohol involvement for Zaworski is unknown, while Norberg was not under the influence.​

Emergency responders from the Isanti County Sheriff’s Office, Cambridge Police Department, Isanti Police Department, Isanti Fire Department, and Allina Health assisted at the scene. The road conditions were reported as dry at the time of the incident.​
