Thief River Falls (trfnews.i234.me) — A man is facing a felony theft charge after allegedly taking a $7,000 ring from the Sanford Wellness Center in Thief River Falls, Pennington County.

According to a criminal complaint filed in Pennington County District Court, 22-year-old Jean Carlos Nole is charged with Theft-Indifferent to Owner Rights, a felony that carries up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.

On June 23, the victim reported losing a ring while working out. Surveillance footage showed a man in a black Star Wars shirt picking up the ring near the kettlebells. Officers identified the man as Nole and went to his residence the next day.

Still wearing the same shirt, Nole allegedly told officers he picked up the ring, attempted to find the owner, but failed. He claimed he intended to report it but “worked late.” He handed over the ring, which appeared to be gold with diamonds, and was then arrested.
