$2.2 Billion Investment to Transform Grand Forks Air Base into a Surveillance Technology Leader

GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) Officials announced a $2.2-billion investment in the Grand Forks Air Force Base today, designed to make it a leader in surveillance technology.
the grand forks air force base received a major shot in the arm today that officials say should secure its future viability the air force announced a 2.2 billion dollar investment in base planning that could bring as many as 800 airmen in the coming years the base is currently home to global hawk and unmanned surveillance and communications aircraft used around the globe the new investment will include new technology that ties the base and the people who run it to satellites aircraft manned and unmanned all designed to improve isr intelligence surveillance reconnaissance north dakota senators cramer and holden were in grand forks to talk about it basically we now have global hawk and what we’re talking about in the future is a new improved surveillance aircraft unmanned aircraft and all those systems that tie to it and would be based out of grand forks we will be part of new isr missions that’s as far that’s the best description we can give you right now as we go forward obviously it will you’ll continue to see it evolve i mean we’re going to start construction around here in 23. so there’ll be more and more detail as it continues to evolve and develop but for today it’s future isr missions and you understand what they’re doing it’s all these things together it’s not going to be any one thing you know at this point all of it remains in the planning stages isr intelligence surveillance reconnaissance here at home and around the globe meanwhile the grand forks air base public affairs office tells me today the cause of a crash that destroyed one of these 130 million dollar global hawks by the base on august 6th remains under investigation i’m Neil Berg reporting for trfnews.i234.me
