FERGUS FALLS, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – A Fergus Falls police officer is recovering after their leg was broken during an arrest on Monday night. According to court documents, the officer stopped a vehicle for dark tint and encountered 62-year-old Joseph Cross. Cross reached towards his side, appearing to hide an object, and ignored commands to keep his hands visible. When ordered to exit the car, Cross refused, leading the officer to attempt to pull him out. Cross resisted, resulting in a struggle where he repeatedly pushed the officer to the ground. The officer sustained a broken fibula and multiple scrapes. Police found 3.5 grams of methamphetamine on Cross, who was subsequently arrested for resisting arrest and drug possession.
