WALKER, MN – (trfnews.i234.me) – A tragic snowmobile crash in Cass County has claimed the life of a 50-year-old man from Corpus Christi, Texas, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
On Friday, February 14, officials received a 911 call reporting a snowmobile crash on 60th St NW in rural Walker, MN.
According to Sheriff Bryan Welk, investigators determined that the man was operating a snowmobile along the “C” snowmobile trail, which shares the roadway with 60th Ave NW. The vehicle left the roadway, struck a snow embankment, and crashed into trees.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported the victim to Park Rapids Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities suspect alcohol was a factor in the crash. The incident is still under investigation.
Assisting agencies included the Minnesota State Patrol, Walker Police Department, and North Memorial Ambulance.
