CASS COUNTY, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – On July 27, 2024, at approximately 9:15 PM, the Traill County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a vehicle traveling the wrong way on Interstate 29. The vehicle, a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox, was moving southbound in the northbound lanes.
The sheriff’s office pursued the vehicle for about 12 miles until the driver, Jerrid Klements, 34, from Lees Summit, Missouri, pulled into the median near mile marker 88 in Cass County and stopped. Klements was arrested by the North Dakota Highway Patrol on charges of driving under the influence with minors present and reckless endangerment, both misdemeanors. He was also cited for driving without liability insurance, open container, driving the wrong way, and registration violations.
Two juvenile children were in the vehicle but were unharmed. Charges related to the pursuit in Traill County are pending. For more details on these charges, please contact the Traill County Sheriff’s Office.
