Ulen<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 One man was killed in a rural Clay County house fire Friday morning.<\/p>\n

The Clay County Sheriff\u2019s Office said crews were dispatched at about 10:14 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 9.<\/p>\n

The call was for a house fire at 21148 160th Ave. N., near Ulen, Minnesota.<\/p>\n

The report said the man could not get out.<\/p>\n

Deputy attempted rescue<\/h2>\n

The Sheriff\u2019s Office said a deputy arrived and entered the home.<\/p>\n

The deputy tried to locate the man, the release said.<\/p>\n

The deputy could not find him, according to the Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

The deputy then exited as smoke increased, the release said.<\/p>\n

Firefighters locate the victim<\/h2>\n

The Ulen Fire Department arrived and began suppression efforts.<\/p>\n

Firefighters also searched the home, the Sheriff\u2019s Office said.<\/p>\n

Firefighters found the man in a bedroom, the release said.<\/p>\n

He was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n

The Sheriff\u2019s Office said the death was due to injuries from the fire.<\/p>\n

Officials have not released the man\u2019s name.<\/p>\n

Investigation continues<\/h2>\n

The cause of the fire has not been released.<\/p>\n

The Sheriff\u2019s Office said the fire remains under investigation.<\/p>\n

The Minnesota State Fire Marshal Division will assist, officials said.<\/p>\n

Fire investigations often include origin and cause work.<\/p>\n

More information may be released later.<\/p>\n

Agencies that assisted<\/h2>\n

The Sheriff\u2019s Office credited multiple agencies for help at the scene.<\/p>\n

Those agencies included the Minnesota State Patrol and Hitterdal Fire.<\/p>\n

Sanford Ambulance and Sanford AirMed also assisted.<\/p>\n

The Salvation Army responded as well, officials said.<\/p>\n

Red River Regional Dispatch also assisted, the Sheriff\u2019s Office said.<\/p>\n
