SCANLON, Minn.<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2013 A Texas man was injured Saturday evening when his Volkswagen Jetta collided with a semi-trailer on Interstate 35 in Carlton County.<\/p>\n

The collision caused the car to spin 180 degrees, leaving it facing the wrong direction in the southbound lanes.<\/p>\n

The Minnesota State Patrol identified the injured driver as 34-year-old Brian Kevin Clouse of San Antonio, Texas.<\/p>\n

Volkswagen Strikes Semi-Trailer on I-35<\/h3>\n

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash occurred around 6:03 p.m. on November 7, 2026.<\/p>\n

Clouse was driving a 2026 Volkswagen Jetta southbound in the left lane of Interstate 35.<\/p>\n

At the same time, a 2024 Freightliner Cascadia semi was entering the interstate from Highway 45.<\/p>\n

The Volkswagen struck the rear driver’s side of the semi-trailer, according to the crash report.<\/p>\n

The impact caused the Jetta to spin approximately 180 degrees.<\/p>\n

The vehicle came to face the opposite direction in the southbound lanes.<\/p>\n

Authorities confirmed that two vehicles were involved in the collision.<\/p>\n

Texas Driver Injured in Collision<\/h3>\n

Clouse suffered injuries classified as non-life-threatening, according to the State Patrol.<\/p>\n

He was taken to Community Memorial Hospital for medical care.<\/p>\n

Investigators confirmed that Clouse was wearing his seat belt when the crash occurred.<\/p>\n

The Volkswagen’s airbags deployed during the collision.<\/p>\n

Semi Driver Escapes Injury<\/h3>\n

The Freightliner was driven by 51-year-old Abdullahi Ali Mohamed of Bloomington, Minnesota.<\/p>\n

Investigators reported that Mohamed was wearing his seat belt.<\/p>\n

The semi’s airbags did not deploy during the collision.<\/p>\n

The Minnesota State Patrol reported dry pavement at the time of the Saturday evening crash.<\/p>\n

Alcohol was not suspected as a contributing factor for either driver.<\/p>\n
