MAHNOMEN, Minn.<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2013 A Mahnomen man faces four felony charges and one gross misdemeanor following allegations of a prolonged domestic assault and sexual violence.<\/p>\n

Devin Rain Anderson, 25, of Mahnomen<\/strong>, is accused of repeatedly assaulting a woman, strangling her with an electrical extension cord, and sexually assaulting her.<\/p>\n

According to an amended criminal complaint filed in Mahnomen County District Court, the alleged violence continued over approximately 24 hours.<\/p>\n

Woman Reports Assault and Strangulation<\/h2>\n

On July 5, 2026, at approximately 5:54 a.m., White Earth Tribal Police responded to a reported domestic assault in Mahnomen.<\/p>\n

Officers found the woman outside a residence.<\/p>\n

She told investigators that Anderson, whom she had been dating, repeatedly struck her face, hands, and body.<\/p>\n

According to court documents, Anderson allegedly wrapped an extension cord around her neck, causing her to lose consciousness.<\/p>\n

Officers observed bruising around the woman’s neck consistent with her account.<\/p>\n

Investigators searched the residence but initially could not locate Anderson.<\/p>\n

Police later found and arrested him.<\/p>\n

Woman Later Reports Sexual Assault<\/h2>\n

On July 6, authorities received additional information concerning alleged sexual assaults during the same incident.<\/p>\n

According to the complaint, the woman disclosed the allegations after speaking with an advocate from DOVE, a domestic violence support organization.<\/p>\n

She reported that Anderson repeatedly sexually assaulted her despite her objections.<\/p>\n

The woman also alleged that Anderson forced her to consume vodka and threatened further violence if she refused.<\/p>\n

She described being physically restrained, repeatedly struck, and prevented from leaving his supervision.<\/p>\n

Complaint Describes Threats and Injuries<\/h2>\n

During subsequent interviews, the woman told investigators that Anderson threatened to kill her.<\/p>\n

She also reported that he interfered with her attempts to contact 911.<\/p>\n

According to court documents, Anderson allegedly threw her phone across the room and threatened her while holding knives.<\/p>\n

During a July 7 follow-up visit, investigators observed blood spots inside the residence and a bloody handprint on a wall.<\/p>\n

Documentation from a sexual assault forensic examination described multiple bruised and swollen areas.<\/p>\n

The medical documentation also recorded the woman’s account of repeated assaults.<\/p>\n
