{"id":7222,"date":"2026-01-21T13:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-01-21T19:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/trfnews.i234.me\/wordpress\/?p=7222"},"modified":"2026-01-20T04:40:28","modified_gmt":"2026-01-20T10:40:28","slug":"ada-man-charged-after-ditch-crash-breath-test-11","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trfnews.i234.me\/wordpress\/ada-man-charged-after-ditch-crash-breath-test-11\/","title":{"rendered":"Ada Man Charged After Ditch Crash, Breath Test .11"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Norman County<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/trfnews.i234.me\">trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) A 51-year-old Ada man is charged after a reported ditch crash.<\/p>\n<p>Nathan Timothy Riepe, 51, of Ada, faces one count of third-degree driving while impaired.<\/p>\n<p>The charge is a gross misdemeanor under <a href=\"https:\/\/www.revisor.mn.gov\/statutes\/cite\/169A.26\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Minnesota Statute 169A.26<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Court records show the case was filed on January 5, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The alleged crash was reported on January 3, 2026, between Halstad and Hendrum.<\/p>\n<h2>What deputies reported<\/h2>\n<p>According to the complaint, deputies were alerted by a tipster about a possible drunk driver.<\/p>\n<p>The tipster said Riepe called and reported he drove into a ditch.<\/p>\n<p>The tipster also said Riepe admitted he had been drinking.<\/p>\n<p>Deputies later located Riepe at his home in Ada, the complaint says.<\/p>\n<p>Deputies said he was still drinking alcohol at the residence.<\/p>\n<p>Riepe told deputies he called a towing service after the crash, the complaint says.<\/p>\n<p>He said a man named Lance picked him up near the crash site.<\/p>\n<p>Riepe first said he drank at a bar in Halstad, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n<p>He later said he had been drinking at a bar in Hendrum.<\/p>\n<p>He also claimed he drank more alcohol after he got home.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_12187\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12187\" style=\"width: 222px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-12187\" src=\"https:\/\/trfnews.i234.me\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Nathan-Timothy-Riepe.png\" alt=\"Nathan Timothy Riepe\" width=\"222\" height=\"175\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-12187\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Nathan Timothy Riepe<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Test result and prior record<\/h2>\n<p>Deputies ran field tests and then used a breath test, the complaint says.<\/p>\n<p>The test showed an alcohol concentration of 0.11.<\/p>\n<p>Under <a href=\"https:\/\/www.revisor.mn.gov\/statutes\/cite\/169A.20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Minnesota Statute 169A.20<\/a>, 0.08 or more can support a DWI charge.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators also found a prior DWI conviction dated October 24, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>That prior case was listed as an aggravating factor in the new charge.<\/p>\n<h2>Court conditions<\/h2>\n<p>Judge Matti R.
