BEMIDJI, Minn.<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2013 A Cass Lake woman faces a felony assault charge after allegedly injuring a correctional officer at the Beltrami County Jail.<\/p>\n

Alexis Breann Decker, 30, of Cass Lake<\/strong>, is charged with fourth-degree assault against a correctional employee causing demonstrable bodily harm.<\/p>\n

According to a criminal complaint filed in Beltrami County District Court, the alleged incident occurred October 24, 2026.<\/p>\n

Probation Warrant Leads to Arrest<\/h2>\n

The investigation began October 23 when a Crow Wing County probation agent contacted the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office.<\/p>\n

The agent reported that Decker was extremely upset about a possible probation violation warrant.<\/p>\n

According to court documents, Decker had reportedly made statements suggesting she would resist being returned to jail.<\/p>\n

The following day, a Bemidji police officer spotted Decker’s vehicle while patrolling near Lucky Dogs.<\/p>\n

The officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested Decker on a probation-related warrant.<\/p>\n

During transportation to jail, Decker reportedly made additional statements expressing distress about being incarcerated.<\/p>\n

Jail Staff Restrain Woman During Booking<\/h2>\n

After arriving at the Beltrami County Jail, Decker was placed into custody for processing.<\/p>\n

According to the complaint, correctional staff had to restrain Decker and place her in a cell to complete the booking process.<\/p>\n

Later on October 24, Bemidji police received a report of an alleged assault involving Decker and a correctional officer.<\/p>\n

An officer responded to the Beltrami County Jail to investigate the incident.<\/p>\n

The correctional employee told investigators that Decker scratched his eyelid while he was attempting to restrain her.<\/p>\n

According to the complaint, the scratch caused discomfort to the employee.<\/p>\n

The responding officer reported personally observing a scratch on the correctional employee.<\/p>\n

Authorities documented the injury as evidence supporting the felony assault allegation.<\/p>\n

Felony Fourth-Degree Assault Charge Filed<\/h2>\n

Prosecutors charged Decker with fourth-degree assault against a correctional employee under Minnesota Statute 609.2231, subdivision 3(1)<\/a>.<\/p>\n
