FLAXTON, ND<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2013 A Lignite man was killed Wednesday night after his pickup collided with a moving train in Burke County.<\/p>\n

The fatal crash happened around 9:15 p.m. on November 4, 2026, approximately five miles west of Flaxton.<\/p>\n

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the crash involved a Ram 3500 pickup and an eastbound train.<\/p>\n

The pickup driver died at the scene. Authorities reported no injuries aboard the train.<\/p>\n

Pickup Collides With Moving Train<\/h2>\n

Investigators said the Ram 3500 was traveling south along 82nd Avenue Northwest when it approached a railroad crossing.<\/p>\n

At the crossing, the pickup collided with a train traveling east.<\/p>\n

The impact proved fatal for the pickup driver, who was a resident of Lignite, North Dakota.<\/p>\n

Authorities had not released the driver’s name in the initial report.<\/p>\n
