The charge follows an early morning call near railroad tracks in rural Mahnomen County on May 23, 2026.<\/p>\n

A criminal complaint says Reamer was found yelling near the tracks and later taken to a hospital.<\/p>\n

A state lab later identified a substance found on him as methamphetamine, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

At about 3:12 a.m., an officer responded to a report of a man yelling.<\/p>\n

Near 140th Avenue, the officer met Ronald Habedank, who stood by the road with a flashlight.<\/p>\n

Habedank said the shouting had awakened him during the night.<\/p>\n

He told the officer he had seen a man lying on railroad tracks.<\/p>\n

Habedank guided the officer through a wooded area and toward the rail line.<\/p>\n

They continued about 75 yards south and found a man lying beside the tracks.<\/p>\n

Investigators later identified the man as Reamer.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Reamer kept yelling and did not answer questions from the officer.<\/p>\n

Those questions concerned his name, whether he needed help, and whether he could walk.<\/p>\n

The officer suspected possible drug use, but the complaint does not report an impairment test.<\/p>\n

Hospital Visit and Lab Results<\/h2>\n

Additional officers and emergency medical workers arrived at the scene.<\/p>\n

With their help, Reamer got to his feet.<\/p>\n

Officers reported seeing two light bulbs on the ground where he had been sitting.<\/p>\n

The complaint notes that light bulbs can be used to consume illegal drugs.<\/p>\n

Reamer was then taken by ambulance to Mahnomen Health Center for medical care.<\/p>\n

Hospital staff found a Wisconsin identification card in his pocket, the complaint states.<\/p>\n

Staff also located a small bag containing a clear, crystal-like substance on his person.<\/p>\n

The bag was sent to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for testing.<\/p>\n

In a report dated June 30, 2026, the agency identified the substance as methamphetamine.<\/p>\n

The material weighed 0.717 grams, according to the lab report cited by prosecutors.<\/p>\n

Felony Charge and Prior Convictions<\/h2>\n

Reamer is charged with fifth-degree controlled substance possession in Mahnomen County District Court.<\/p>\n

The court file is 44-CR-26-478, and the complaint lists the offense as a felony.<\/p>\n

Under Minnesota Statute 152.025<\/a>, the charge can carry up to five years in prison.<\/p>\n

A conviction can also bring a fine of up to $10,000, or both penalties.<\/p>\n

Those are maximum penalties, not a sentence in this case.<\/p>\n

The complaint also cites previous drug convictions.<\/p>\n

Reamer was convicted of third-degree drug possession in a school zone on June 18, 2026.<\/p>\n

That Minnesota conviction involved a separate incident dated March 26, 2026.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors also listed earlier felony methamphetamine possession convictions from Pierce and Eau Claire counties in Wisconsin.<\/p>\n
