PAYNESVILLE (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>)<\/strong> \u2014 A 21-year-old man was injured Thursday morning in a three-vehicle crash in Stearns County.<\/p>\n

The collision happened around 6:45 a.m. on October 29, 2026, at Highway 55 and County Road 66 in Paynesville.<\/p>\n

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, two vehicles collided before the crash involved a third vehicle stopped at the intersection.<\/p>\n

Three Vehicles Involved in Highway 55 Crash<\/h2>\n

The State Patrol reported that a 2003 Chevrolet Impala was traveling eastbound on Highway 55.<\/p>\n

At the same time, a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado pickup was traveling westbound on the highway.<\/p>\n

The two vehicles collided at the intersection with County Road 66.<\/p>\n

Following the initial collision, the vehicles moved into a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox stopped on County Road 66.<\/p>\n

All three vehicles became involved in the crash. The State Patrol reported that road conditions were dry.<\/p>\n

Paynesville Driver Taken to Hospital<\/h2>\n

The Chevrolet Impala was driven by Joshua Allen Severson, 21, of Paynesville, Minnesota.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Severson suffered injuries described as non-life-threatening. Emergency responders transported him to Paynesville Hospital for medical treatment.<\/p>\n

Authorities confirmed that Severson was wearing his seat belt when the collision occurred. The Impala’s airbags deployed during the crash.<\/p>\n

Four Other People Escape Injury<\/h2>\n

The Silverado was driven by Bret Justin Bergs, 42, of Hutchinson, Minnesota.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Two passengers were riding with Bergs in the pickup.<\/p>\n

They were identified as Tyler Allen Baumgardt, 42, of Robbinsdale,<\/strong> and Chase James Marquette, 26, of Brownton.<\/strong><\/p>\n

All three Silverado occupants escaped injury, according to the State Patrol.<\/p>\n

Each occupant was wearing a seat belt. The Silverado’s airbags deployed during the collision.<\/p>\n

The Chevrolet Equinox was driven by Courtney Marie Stang, 25, of Richmond, Minnesota.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Stang was stopped on County Road 66 when the crash occurred. She was not injured.<\/p>\n

The State Patrol reported that Stang was wearing her seat belt. The Equinox’s airbags did not deploy.<\/p>\n

Emergency Crews Respond to Collision<\/h2>\n

Several emergency agencies responded to the three-vehicle accident Thursday morning.<\/p>\n

Responding agencies included CentraCare Ambulance, the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, and the Paynesville Fire Department.<\/p>\n

The Minnesota State Patrol investigated the crash through its St. Cloud district.<\/p>\n

Authorities reported that alcohol was not suspected for any of the five people involved.<\/p>\n

The public crash report did not identify the cause of the initial collision.<\/p>\n

The State Patrol classified the collision as an injury crash under case number 26603159.<\/p>\n
