EAST LAKE LILLIAN TOWNSHIP (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>)<\/strong> \u2014 A 33-year-old Cosmos woman died Thursday morning after her SUV collided with a semi-truck in Kandiyohi County.<\/p>\n

The fatal crash happened at approximately 2:29 a.m. on October 29, 2026. The collision occurred on Highway 7 near mile marker 118 in East Lake Lillian Township.<\/p>\n

The Minnesota State Patrol identified the victim as Brittany Ann Gehrke, 33, of Cosmos, Minnesota.<\/strong><\/p>\n

SUV and Semi Collide on Highway 7<\/h2>\n

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Gehrke was driving a 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander westbound on Highway 7.<\/p>\n

A 2022 Freightliner semi-truck was traveling eastbound on the same highway. The two vehicles collided near mile marker 118.<\/p>\n

Authorities have not released details explaining what led to the collision. The State Patrol confirmed that the roadway was wet when the crash occurred.<\/p>\n

Cosmos Woman Dies in Collision<\/h2>\n

Gehrke suffered fatal injuries in the crash, according to the State Patrol.<\/p>\n

Investigators reported that she was not wearing a seat belt when the vehicles collided. The airbags in her Mitsubishi Outlander deployed during the crash.<\/p>\n

Semi Driver and Passenger Escape Injury<\/h2>\n

The Freightliner was driven by Roger Michael Jennings, 41, of Cottonwood, Minnesota.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jennings was not injured in the collision, according to the crash report. He was wearing his seat belt.<\/p>\n

A passenger in the semi, Jose Luis Euceda Trochez, 23, of Willmar, Minnesota,<\/strong> also escaped injury.<\/p>\n

Euceda Trochez was wearing his seat belt when the collision happened.<\/p>\n

Alcohol was not suspected for any of the three people involved, according to the State Patrol.<\/p>\n

Emergency Crews Respond to Fatal Crash<\/h2>\n

Several emergency agencies responded to the crash scene early Thursday morning.<\/p>\n

Responding agencies included the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office, Lake Lillian Ambulance, and Lake Lillian Fire Department.<\/p>\n

Kandiyohi Rescue and CentraCare Ambulance also assisted with the emergency response.<\/p>\n

The State Patrol handled the crash investigation through its St. Cloud district.<\/p>\n

The Minnesota State Patrol classified the collision as a fatal traffic crash under case number 26603156.<\/p>\n

The agency last updated its public report at 1:17 p.m. on October 29, 2026.<\/p>\n
