{"id":69001,"date":"2026-10-29T08:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-10-29T13:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/trfnews.i234.me\/wordpress\/?p=69001"},"modified":"2026-10-28T21:15:07","modified_gmt":"2026-10-29T02:15:07","slug":"holiday-train-to-light-up-thief-river-falls-dec-17","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trfnews.i234.me\/wordpress\/holiday-train-to-light-up-thief-river-falls-dec-17\/","title":{"rendered":"Holiday Train to Light Up Thief River Falls Dec. 17"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>THIEF RIVER FALLS<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/trfnews.i234.me\">trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 The CPKC Holiday Train will arrive Dec. 17, 2026, at 7:45 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>The free event will take place at 405 Third Street East in Thief River Falls.<\/p>\n<p>Shawnee Kish and Jamie Fine will perform during the 30-minute holiday concert.<\/p>\n<p>The stop is among 25 scheduled across Minnesota from December 11 through December 18.<\/p>\n<p>The colorful train brings live music and holiday lights to communities across the United States and Canada.<\/p>\n<h2>Free Concert Supports Local Food Banks<\/h2>\n<p>Visitors are encouraged to bring cash or nonperishable food donations for local food banks.<\/p>\n<p>Admission is free, and donations are voluntary.<\/p>\n<p>The train features hundreds of thousands of holiday lights and decorated railroad cars.<\/p>\n<p>One railcar opens into a stage where musicians perform for the crowd.<\/p>\n<p>The train does not offer passenger rides.<\/p>\n<p>Since 1999, the Holiday Train program has raised more than $28.3 million for food banks.<\/p>\n<p>It has also collected more than 5.6 million pounds of food.<\/p>\n<h2>2026 Minnesota Holiday Train Schedule<\/h2>\n<p>All times are Central.
