Beltrami County\u00a0<\/strong>(trfnews.i234.me)\u00a0<\/a>\u2013 A Bemidji man is now facing two felony robbery charges after an October incident at a city park.<\/p>\n

According to a criminal complaint, the case involves Vincent W. Wilson Jr.<\/strong> of Bemidji.
\nProsecutors say the incident happened on October 24 near the entrance to North Country Park.
\nThe park is a popular outdoor area on the north side of Bemidji.

Court records say two men were walking near the park entrance that night.
\nA vehicle pulled up close to them.
\nInvestigators say Wilson was one of the people inside the vehicle.
\nAccording to the complaint, Wilson got out of the vehicle and went toward the men.<\/p>\n

The victims told officers that Wilson began to punch and hit them.
\nThey reported being knocked to the ground during the attack.
\nThe complaint says both victims were struck several times.
\nAfter the assault, items were taken from the victims.
\nTwo cell phones and a pair of shoes were reported stolen.
\nThe men later contacted law enforcement and described what happened.<\/p>\n

Investigators reviewed surveillance video from the area.
\nThey also collected statements from the victims and other witnesses.
\nAccording to the complaint, that work led officers to Vincent Wilson.
\nHe was later identified as a suspect and taken into custody.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors have now charged Wilson with two felony counts of simple robbery.

\nSimple robbery is a felony level crime and can bring prison time.<\/p>\n

The case will proceed in Beltrami County District Court.
