Crookston Court No-Show Leads to Felony Charge<\/h2>\n

Crookston (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>)<\/strong> \u2014 A Kansas man faces a felony charge after allegedly failing to appear for a required court hearing in Crookston.<\/p>\n

Skyler David Beliles, 28, of Wichita, Kansas, is charged in Polk County District Court.<\/p>\n

He faces one count of felony failure to appear for court.<\/p>\n

The alleged offense dates to December 9, 2025.<\/p>\n

Earlier Felony Case Led To Court Conditions<\/h2>\n

According to the criminal complaint, Beliles first appeared in Polk County District Court in February 2024.<\/p>\n

That case involved a felony charge of fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Beliles was advised that intentionally missing court could result in another criminal charge.<\/p>\n

His release conditions also required him to attend all scheduled court appearances.<\/p>\n

Beliles later posted bail and was released from custody.<\/p>\n

December Hearing Allegedly Missed<\/h2>\n

Beliles appeared with his attorney on October 28, 2025, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

During that appearance, his next hearing was scheduled for December 9.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Beliles did not appear in person on that date.<\/p>\n

He also allegedly did not participate through Zoom.<\/p>\n

His attorney was present for the hearing.<\/p>\n

Authorities said they found no evidence Beliles was incarcerated or hospitalized at the time.<\/p>\n

A warrant was then issued for his arrest.<\/p>\n

Complaint Says Arrest Followed<\/h2>\n

The complaint alleges Beliles intentionally failed to attend the required hearing.<\/p>\n

It also states he was on supervised probation when the alleged failure to appear occurred.<\/p>\n

Beliles was later arrested.<\/p>\n

The complaint says authorities believe he was extradited from Indiana.<\/p>\n

Felony Failure-To-Appear Charge Filed<\/h2>\n

Beliles now faces a separate felony charge under Minnesota’s failure-to-appear law.<\/p>\n

The charge carries a maximum penalty of 18 months in prison.<\/p>\n

It also carries a possible $2,500 fine, or both.<\/p>\n

The new charge is an allegation. Beliles is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n
