Vehicle Seen Near Park And School<\/h2>\n
According to the criminal complaint, law enforcement first saw a white Chevrolet Tahoe in Plummer.<\/p>\n
The vehicle was parked near Lions Park.<\/p>\n
The complaint says the Tahoe later traveled past Red Lake County Central Elementary School.<\/p>\n
Authorities continued watching the vehicle as it traveled south on Highway 59.<\/p>\n
The Tahoe later stopped at a gas station before continuing south.<\/p>\n
Law enforcement eventually stopped the vehicle on 270th Street Southeast.<\/p>\n
Driver Showed Alleged Signs Of Impairment<\/h2>\n
Peralta was identified as the driver.<\/p>\n
The complaint alleges she appeared nervous and spoke rapidly during the stop.<\/p>\n
Authorities also reported constricted pupils and uncontrollable shaking.<\/p>\n
Peralta agreed to perform field sobriety tests.<\/p>\n
The complaint says she swayed and showed other signs investigators associated with controlled-substance impairment.<\/p>\n
She was then arrested on suspicion of driving while impaired.<\/p>\n
Scale Allegedly Tests Positive For Meth<\/h2>\n
Authorities searched the Tahoe after the arrest.<\/p>\n
Investigators reported finding a small green scale inside the center console.<\/p>\n
The scale allegedly contained white residue and small crystal-like material.<\/p>\n
A field test was presumptively positive for methamphetamine, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n
A second presumptive test later produced the same result.<\/p>\n
The scale was photographed and placed into evidence.<\/p>\n
Blood Sample Collected<\/h2>\n
A search warrant was obtained for a blood or urine sample.<\/p>\n
Peralta selected a blood test.<\/p>\n
The sample was later submitted to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for analysis.<\/p>\n
The complaint also lists a qualifying impaired-driving conviction from February 2020.<\/p>\n
Felony Drug Charge Filed<\/h2>\n
Peralta is charged with third-degree possession of methamphetamine in a school or park zone.<\/p>\n
The felony carries a maximum penalty of 20 years imprisonment or a $250,000 fine.<\/p>\n
