Lancaster (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>)<\/strong> \u2014 A Washington woman faces three felony drug charges following a September 13 border inspection.<\/p>\n

Mele Susan Agrella, 61, is charged in Kittson County District Court.<\/p>\n

She faces fifth-degree controlled substance possession and two first-degree cannabis possession charges.<\/p>\n

Each felony carries up to five years in prison.<\/p>\n

Each also carries a possible $10,000 fine.<\/p>\n

Border Officers Report Drug Seizure<\/h2>\n

The incident happened around 4:45 p.m. at the Lancaster Port of Entry.<\/p>\n

According to the complaint, federal border officers contacted the Kittson County Sheriff’s Office.<\/p>\n

They reported finding marijuana, cannabis butter, THC gummies, and psilocybin products.<\/p>\n

Local deputies were asked to evaluate whether Minnesota criminal charges were appropriate.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Agrella and her husband were traveling from Canada in a large motor home.<\/p>\n

They had originally entered Canada through British Columbia.<\/p>\n

Large Amount Of Cannabis Butter Found<\/h2>\n

Authorities reported finding several different cannabis and psilocybin products inside the motor home.<\/p>\n

The seized items included a psilocybin chocolate bar weighing 56.73 grams.<\/p>\n

They also found psilocybin capsules weighing 2.19 grams.<\/p>\n

THC gummies had a combined weight of 289.07 grams, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Loose marijuana and rolled marijuana cigarettes were also found.<\/p>\n

The largest item was a bag of marijuana “butter.”<\/p>\n

The complaint lists its weight at approximately 1.45 kilograms.<\/p>\n

Agrella Claims Ownership<\/h2>\n

Agrella allegedly told border officers that the narcotics belonged to her.<\/p>\n

Her husband reportedly appeared surprised and denied knowing they were inside the motor home.<\/p>\n

Agrella later told investigators she previously had authorization to grow marijuana in California.<\/p>\n

She said she had used about 60 marijuana plants to create the cannabis butter.<\/p>\n

According to the complaint, she did not know its THC concentration.<\/p>\n

Agrella allegedly said she had not consumed the cannabis butter in more than four years.<\/p>\n

She told investigators she kept it because of the time and money spent making it.<\/p>\n

The complaint says she purchased the THC gummies in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

She said her daughter had given her the psilocybin products in Washington.<\/p>\n

Three Felony Charges Filed<\/h2>\n

Prosecutors charged Agrella with fifth-degree controlled substance possession.<\/p>\n

She also faces two felony counts involving possession of cannabis products.<\/p>\n

Authorities arrested Agrella and transported her to the Marshall County Jail in Warren.<\/p>\n

The charges are allegations. Agrella is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n
