Thief River Falls (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>)<\/strong> \u2014 A Thief River Falls woman faces two gross misdemeanor charges following a September 9 disturbance.<\/p>\n

Maci Anamae Marvin Nichols, 22, is charged in Pennington County District Court.<\/p>\n

Nichols faces domestic assault and interference with a 911 call.<\/p>\n

Each charge carries up to 364 days in jail and a possible $3,000 fine.<\/p>\n

Police Called To Atlantic Avenue<\/h2>\n

Police responded around 9:47 p.m. to a home on Atlantic Avenue North.<\/p>\n

Dispatchers were initially on an active 911 call with a woman at the residence.<\/p>\n

A man from the home later called 911 and reported that a woman needed to leave.<\/p>\n

Police identified the woman as Nichols.<\/p>\n

According to the complaint, Nichols was emotional and crying while speaking with police.<\/p>\n

She allegedly told police she wanted her boyfriend out of the house.<\/p>\n

Nichols also admitted trying to get a phone away from him, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Boyfriend Reports Being Hit<\/h2>\n

Nichols told investigators the dispute escalated when her boyfriend attempted to call police.<\/p>\n

She allegedly said she tried to knock the phone from his hands.<\/p>\n

When asked whether she had hit him, Nichols reportedly said she did not believe she had.<\/p>\n

Her boyfriend gave police a different account.<\/p>\n

He alleged Nichols jumped on top of him and began hitting him in the face.<\/p>\n

Police reported observing visible marks on his face.<\/p>\n

The boyfriend said he then grabbed his phone and attempted to call 911.<\/p>\n

According to the complaint, Nichols took the phone while he was trying to make the emergency call.<\/p>\n

Nichols Arrested<\/h2>\n

Police arrested Nichols following their investigation at the residence.<\/p>\n

She was taken to the Pennington County Law Enforcement Center for booking.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors charged Nichols with gross misdemeanor domestic assault.<\/p>\n

The complaint alleges the offense occurred within 10 years of a qualifying domestic violence-related conviction.<\/p>\n

Nichols was convicted of domestic assault in 2025, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

The complaint also states she was on supervised probation.<\/p>\n

Nichols is additionally charged with intentionally interfering with an emergency call.<\/p>\n

The new charges are allegations. Nichols is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n
