Crookston Woman Charged With Felony Failure to Appear<\/h2>\n

Crookston (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>)<\/strong> \u2014 A Bagley woman faces a felony charge after allegedly missing a scheduled court appearance in Crookston.<\/p>\n

Jodi Corrine Martine, 59, is charged with felony failure to appear for court.<\/p>\n

The charge was filed in Polk County District Court.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors allege Martine intentionally failed to appear for a jury trial on August 24, 2026.<\/p>\n

Earlier Case Led to Court Dates<\/h2>\n

The new charge stems from an earlier Polk County criminal case.<\/p>\n

Martine first appeared in that case on August 25, 2025, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

She was charged with felony threats of violence and misdemeanor assault in that matter.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Martine was informed that missing court could result in another criminal charge.<\/p>\n

A judge also set conditions for her release from custody.<\/p>\n

Those conditions required Martine to attend all scheduled court appearances.<\/p>\n

She later posted bail and was released from custody.<\/p>\n

Trial Scheduled for August 24<\/h2>\n

Martine appeared with her attorney at a hearing on June 18, 2026.<\/p>\n

The court scheduled a pretrial hearing for August 20.<\/p>\n

A jury trial was also scheduled for August 24.<\/p>\n

Martine attended the August 20 pretrial hearing, according to court records.<\/p>\n

The case remained unresolved and stayed on the trial calendar.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors say Martine did not appear when the trial was scheduled to begin four days later.<\/p>\n

Her attorney was present at the Polk County Justice Center.<\/p>\n

The complaint says there was no known contact with Martine at that time.<\/p>\n

Warrant Issued After Missed Appearance<\/h2>\n

The court issued a body-only warrant after Martine failed to appear.<\/p>\n

The case was also removed from the trial calendar.<\/p>\n

Investigators reported no evidence Martine was hospitalized or confined elsewhere.<\/p>\n

Martine later appeared on the failure-to-appear warrant on August 27, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

The new felony charge falls under Minnesota Statute 609.49<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The charge carries up to two-and-a-half years in prison.<\/p>\n

It also carries a possible fine of up to $5,000.<\/p>\n

Criminal charges are allegations. Martine is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n
