Jared Joseph Shaw, 39, is charged in Crow Wing County District Court.<\/p>\n
Three of the charges are felonies, according to the criminal complaint.<\/p>\n
The case stems from an incident at CC’s Bar on September 6, 2026.<\/p>\n
Police Called to Brainerd Bar<\/h2>\n
Police were dispatched shortly before 1 a.m. for a reported fight behind the bar.<\/p>\n
Authorities found one man shirtless and bleeding from his forehead, court records state.<\/p>\n
Witnesses told police Shaw had also punched his girlfriend.<\/p>\n
Officers then entered the bar and found damaged items and broken liquor bottles.<\/p>\n
The complaint says Shaw and his girlfriend were getting up from the floor.<\/p>\n
Police reported seeing swelling and a cut above the woman’s eye.<\/p>\n
The woman allegedly said Shaw had punched her twice.<\/p>\n
She also told investigators Shaw slammed her to the ground.<\/p>\n
Second Man Reports Being Punched<\/h2>\n
Another man told police he had been playing pool with Shaw before the fight.<\/p>\n
He said Shaw suddenly punched him in the head.<\/p>\n
The man reported Shaw punched him again and then tried to tackle him.<\/p>\n
The girlfriend reportedly tried to step between the two men during the confrontation.<\/p>\n
Emergency medical workers later examined the woman.<\/p>\n
The complaint says they suspected a concussion and a possible fractured bone near her eye.<\/p>\n
Police Describe Struggle During Arrest<\/h2>\n
Police say Shaw resisted while officers attempted to remove him from the bar.<\/p>\n
The complaint alleges he pulled away and tried to kick officers.<\/p>\n
Police eventually used pepper spray before placing Shaw inside a squad vehicle.<\/p>\n
Authorities say he remained aggressive during transport to the Crow Wing County Jail.<\/p>\n
The complaint alleges Shaw later threatened to kill an officer while at the jail.<\/p>\n
Five Charges Filed<\/h2>\n
Shaw faces felony third-degree assault under Minnesota Statute 609.223<\/a>.<\/p>\n He also faces felony domestic assault and felony threats of violence.<\/p>\n Each felony count carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison.<\/p>\n Each also carries a possible fine of up to $10,000.<\/p>\n Shaw also faces gross misdemeanor obstruction and misdemeanor fifth-degree assault.<\/p>\n The complaint lists several prior domestic violence-related convictions.<\/p>\n Those convictions are cited as part of the felony domestic assault charge.<\/p>\n Criminal charges are allegations.
