Fargo Apartment Fire Displaces Two Residents<\/h2>\n

Fargo<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 An early morning apartment fire damaged two units and displaced two Fargo residents Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The Fargo Fire Department was called to 811 7th Avenue North at about 1:10 a.m.<\/p>\n

Firefighters arrived and found heavy smoke and flames coming from a second-floor apartment.<\/p>\n

Crews quickly called for a second alarm because of the size of the fire.<\/p>\n

The fire was extinguished about 10 minutes after the first firefighters reached the scene.<\/p>\n

Tenant Alerted Nearby Officers<\/h2>\n

The emergency response began after a tenant escaped from the burning apartment.<\/p>\n

The tenant then flagged down Fargo police officers who were handling another nearby call.<\/p>\n

The officers began warning other tenants and helped residents leave the apartment building.<\/p>\n

Two occupants and their pets were helped through a basement window.<\/p>\n

All tenants and pets escaped the building safely.<\/p>\n

No injuries were reported during the fire or evacuation.<\/p>\n

Two Apartments Badly Damaged<\/h2>\n

Fire officials said two apartment units suffered significant fire and smoke damage.<\/p>\n

Two occupants were displaced because of the damage.<\/p>\n

Officials did not immediately have an estimate for the total property loss.<\/p>\n

The extent of damage to other areas of the building was not detailed.<\/p>\n

The Fargo Fire Department<\/a> continues to investigate the cause.<\/p>\n

No cause had been announced in the initial report.<\/p>\n

Several Agencies Assist<\/h2>\n

Fargo firefighters responded with five engines and one ladder truck.<\/p>\n

Two command vehicles were also sent to the apartment complex.<\/p>\n

The Fargo Police Department assisted with evacuating residents and securing the scene.<\/p>\n

Sanford Ambulance<\/a> also responded during the emergency.<\/p>\n

The Salvation Army and American Red Cross provided additional help at the scene.<\/p>\n

The American Red Cross Minnesota and Dakotas Region<\/a> assists people affected by disasters.<\/p>\n

Officials said no additional information was immediately available Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n

The investigation will continue as fire officials work to determine what started the blaze.<\/p>\n
