Fargo, North Dakota (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>)<\/strong> \u2014 Firefighters battled a structure fire Sunday afternoon at a vacant rental property in Fargo.<\/p>\n

The fire was reported at about 3:38 p.m. Sunday, September 27, 2026. Crews were sent to 910 4th Avenue South.<\/p>\n

According to the Fargo Fire Department<\/a>, heavy smoke was visible when crews arrived.<\/p>\n

Smoke was coming from the second floor of the home. Firefighters also saw smoke coming from the porch roof.<\/p>\n

The conditions prompted fire officials to call for a second alarm. That brought additional crews and equipment to the scene.<\/p>\n

Vacant Home Had No Occupants<\/h2>\n

The rental property was vacant when the fire started. Officials said no people or pets were inside the building.<\/p>\n

Fire crews entered the property and worked to bring the flames under control.<\/p>\n

The department said firefighters extinguished the fire about 20 minutes after the first crews arrived.<\/p>\n

No injuries were reported in information released by the department.<\/p>\n

Significant Damage Reported<\/h2>\n

The residence suffered significant fire and smoke damage. Officials have not released an estimated cost for the damage.<\/p>\n

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.<\/p>\n

The Fargo Fire Department responded with five engines and one ladder truck. Two command vehicles also responded to the scene.<\/p>\n

The Fargo Police Department<\/a> assisted firefighters during the response.<\/p>\n

Sanford Ambulance and the Salvation Army also provided assistance at the scene.<\/p>\n

Investigation Continues<\/h2>\n

Fire officials have not announced what may have started the fire. No damage estimate was available following the response.<\/p>\n

The investigation will focus on determining where the fire began and what caused it.<\/p>\n

The Fargo Fire Department provides fire protection and emergency response services throughout the city.<\/p>\n

Officials have not announced when additional information about the investigation could be released.<\/p>\n
