New Town Shooting: Multiple People Reported Shot<\/h2>\n

Emergency radio traffic began around 10 p.m. as responders were sent to the shooting scene.<\/p>\n

Radio traffic indicated at least two people had suffered gunshot wounds.<\/p>\n

One transmission described a victim with a gunshot wound to the chest.<\/p>\n

Authorities also received reports that a shotgun may have been fired.<\/p>\n

Shelter-in-Place Order Issued<\/h2>\n

An emergency shelter-in-place order was issued at 10:28 p.m. Friday.<\/p>\n

The order covered New Town and the nearby Four Bears area.<\/p>\n

Authorities said two males dressed in black were armed and on foot.<\/p>\n

Residents were told to remain inside and lock their doors.<\/p>\n

Officials also urged people to stay away from windows.<\/p>\n

People outside the affected area were told to avoid New Town and Four Bears.<\/p>\n

Authorities warned residents not to approach anyone matching the description.<\/p>\n

Anyone seeing suspicious activity was asked to call 911 immediately.<\/p>\n

Public Threat Later Declared Over<\/h2>\n

The shelter-in-place order remained active through the overnight hours.<\/p>\n

However, the MHA Emergency Operations Center later announced the order had been lifted.<\/p>\n

The order ended at 6:10 a.m. Saturday, according to an updated report.<\/p>\n
