Amber Rose Chapman, of Grand Forks, appeared in Polk County court in Crookston on a case filed last April. Court documents say Chapman missed her original court date.<\/p>\n

Charges Filed in Polk County<\/h3>\n

Chapman is charged with third-degree murder, tied to an alleged sale of fentanyl in a drug overdose death in East Grand Forks. She also faces a charge of selling a controlled substance in a prohibited zone near a school or park, according to court records.<\/p>\n

Charging documents describe the case as a drug sale linked to a fatal overdose. A criminal charge is not proof of guilt. Chapman is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n

According to court documents, on April 8, 2025, a woman was found dead inside an apartment in East Grand Forks. The documents say the death was caused by a fentanyl overdose.<\/p>\n

Investigators allege Chapman sold the victim the dose that led to the overdose. The victim\u2019s name has not been released in the information provided to TRF News.<\/p>\n

Court records also mention that the alleged sale happened in a location covered by a prohibited zone rule. That charge can apply near schools, parks, or other protected areas.<\/p>\n
