Two Killed, One Critically Hurt in Willmar Shooting<\/h2>\n

Willmar (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>)<\/strong> \u2014 Two young men were killed in a shooting at Rau Park Monday night.<\/p>\n

A third man suffered critical injuries, according to the Willmar Police Department.<\/p>\n

Police were called to the park around 8 p.m. on September 21.<\/p>\n

The shooting happened near the 1000 block of 7th Street Northwest.<\/p>\n

Dispatchers initially reported that two or three people may have been injured.<\/p>\n

Two Victims Taken by Ambulance<\/h2>\n

Officers and emergency medical crews found two wounded men at the scene.<\/p>\n

Police identified them only by age because family notifications were still being completed.<\/p>\n

One victim was 19 years old and the other was 20.<\/p>\n

Both men were from Willmar.<\/p>\n

Emergency crews provided lifesaving care before taking both men to a Willmar hospital.<\/p>\n

One of the men was pronounced dead after arriving at the hospital.<\/p>\n

The other man was later flown to St. Cloud Hospital.<\/p>\n

Police said he remained in critical condition at the time of publication.<\/p>\n

Third Victim Arrived in Personal Vehicle<\/h2>\n

A third victim was taken to the Willmar hospital in a personal vehicle.<\/p>\n

That victim was a 19-year-old Willmar man.<\/p>\n

Police said he was pronounced dead a short time later.<\/p>\n

The names of the two men killed were not immediately released.<\/p>\n

Police said the delay would allow time to notify their families.<\/p>\n

Police Say Shooting Was Not Random<\/h2>\n

Officers secured Rau Park while investigators began collecting statements from witnesses.<\/p>\n

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension crime lab was called to assist at the scene.<\/p>\n

The BCA provides forensic and investigative support to law enforcement agencies across Minnesota.<\/p>\n

The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office also assisted with the investigation.<\/p>\n

Police said their early investigation indicates the shooting was an isolated incident.<\/p>\n

Investigators also said they do not believe the shooting was random.<\/p>\n

Authorities said there was no known ongoing threat to the public.<\/p>\n

The investigation remains active, and additional details may be released later.<\/p>\n
