Kabetogama Man Hurt in Highway 53 Crash<\/h2>\n

St. Louis County (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>)<\/strong> \u2014 A Kabetogama man was injured in a two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon in northern Minnesota.<\/p>\n

The crash happened at about 2:02 p.m. on September 19, 2026.<\/p>\n

It occurred at Highway 53 and County Road 519 in St. Louis County.<\/p>\n

Two pickup trucks were involved in the collision.<\/p>\n

Two Pickups Collide at Highway 53 Intersection<\/h2>\n

A 2025 Chevrolet Colorado was traveling north on Highway 53.<\/p>\n

A 2016 Ford F-150 was also traveling north near County Road 519.<\/p>\n

The two vehicles collided at the intersection, according to the crash report.<\/p>\n

The road surface was dry when the crash occurred.<\/p>\n

The report did not give more details about how the collision happened.<\/p>\n

Kabetogama Driver Taken to Hospital<\/h2>\n

Russell James Lehto, 65, of Kabetogama, was driving the Chevrolet Colorado.<\/p>\n

Lehto suffered injuries described as non-life-threatening.<\/p>\n

He was taken to Cook Hospital for medical care.<\/p>\n

Lehto was wearing a seat belt when the crash happened.<\/p>\n

Airbags did not deploy in the Chevrolet Colorado.<\/p>\n

Alcohol was not suspected in connection with Lehto.<\/p>\n

Illinois Driver and Passenger Uninjured<\/h2>\n

Mitchell Jay Gentry, 65, of Atkinson, Illinois, was driving the Ford F-150.<\/p>\n

Gentry was not reported injured in the crash.<\/p>\n

Richard P. Gentry, 87, also of Atkinson, was a passenger in the Ford.<\/p>\n

He was also not reported injured.<\/p>\n

Both men were wearing seat belts.<\/p>\n

Airbags did not deploy in the Ford F-150.<\/p>\n

Alcohol was not suspected in connection with the Ford driver.<\/p>\n

Emergency Crews Respond<\/h2>\n

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources assisted at the crash scene.<\/p>\n

Orr Fire and Ambulance also responded to the collision.<\/p>\n

The incident was listed as an injury crash under report number 26311173.<\/p>\n

The crash report was last updated at 4:54 p.m. on September 19.<\/p>\n
