Moorhead Man Charged After Knife Attack on Roommate<\/h2>\n

Moorhead, Minnesota<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 Ignacio Gonzalez, 35, faces felony charges after an alleged knife attack on his roommate.<\/p>\n

A criminal complaint was filed in Clay County District Court.<\/p>\n

Gonzalez is charged with second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon.<\/p>\n

He also faces a felony threats of violence charge and misdemeanor domestic assault.<\/p>\n

Court records say the incident happened September 19 at a Moorhead apartment.<\/p>\n

Released From Jail Earlier That Day<\/h2>\n

According to the complaint, Gonzalez and his roommate had lived together for about two months.<\/p>\n

Gonzalez was released from the Cass County Jail earlier that day.<\/p>\n

After returning to the apartment, Gonzalez began drinking, the roommate told investigators.<\/p>\n

The roommate said he stayed in his bedroom to avoid contact with Gonzalez.<\/p>\n

Investigators said Gonzalez continued drinking throughout the day.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Gonzalez later began banging on the roommate’s bedroom door.<\/p>\n

When the roommate opened the door, Gonzalez entered and started yelling, according to police.<\/p>\n

The roommate said Gonzalez then kicked a door that struck him in the head.<\/p>\n

The impact caused the roommate to bleed, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Knife Allegedly Used During Threat<\/h2>\n

Police said Gonzalez then displayed a six-inch serrated knife.<\/p>\n

The roommate reported that Gonzalez threatened to kill him while holding the knife.<\/p>\n

The roommate fled the apartment and tried to escape, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Police said Gonzalez chased him while still holding the knife.<\/p>\n

The roommate eventually got away and found someone who could help.<\/p>\n

Police were then called to the apartment.<\/p>\n

SWAT Team Assists With Arrest<\/h2>\n

Officers located Gonzalez at the Moorhead apartment.<\/p>\n

The complaint says a SWAT team assisted officers in taking him into custody.<\/p>\n

Gonzalez was taken to the Clay County Jail following his arrest.<\/p>\n

He remained in custody when the case was reported.<\/p>\n

The charges against Gonzalez remain pending in Clay County District Court.<\/p>\n

No conviction has been entered in the case.<\/p>\n
