Hitterdal Man Arrested After Alleged Police Chase<\/h2>\n

Hitterdal (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>)<\/strong> \u2014 Cody Jacobson, 44, was arrested Friday after an alleged police pursuit near Hitterdal.<\/p>\n

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office reported the incident happened on September 18.<\/p>\n

The encounter began at about 7:45 a.m., according to an agency release.<\/p>\n

Traffic Stop Attempted Near Hitterdal<\/h2>\n

A deputy tried to stop Jacobson for speeding on 90th Avenue North.<\/p>\n

Jacobson allegedly failed to stop and continued south on Highway 32.<\/p>\n

The sheriff’s office said Jacobson then drove into a cemetery in Hitterdal.<\/p>\n

He later left the cemetery and continued south on Highway 32.<\/p>\n

The vehicle eventually stopped at Jacobson’s residence just south of Hitterdal.<\/p>\n

Struggle Reported at Residence<\/h2>\n

Authorities said Jacobson tried to enter the home after stopping his vehicle.<\/p>\n

Deputies and Minnesota State Patrol troopers attempted to prevent him from entering.<\/p>\n

The release states that Jacobson was uncooperative and resisted their efforts.<\/p>\n

Authorities eventually arrested him at the residence.<\/p>\n

Jacobson was taken to the Clay County Correctional Facility in Moorhead.<\/p>\n

Jacobson suffered a cut to his head during the encounter, according to the release.<\/p>\n

A deputy and a state trooper also suffered minor injuries.<\/p>\n

All three were treated at a local hospital.<\/p>\n

Several Offenses Under Investigation<\/h2>\n

Jacobson is being held on suspicion of several offenses, according to the sheriff’s office.<\/p>\n

They include felony fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle.<\/p>\n

He is also suspected of fourth-degree assault on a peace officer.<\/p>\n

Authorities also listed obstructing legal process and fourth-degree driving under the influence.<\/p>\n

The allegations have not been proven in court.<\/p>\n

Jacobson is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.<\/p>\n

Minnesota’s fleeing law can be reviewed through the Minnesota Revisor of Statutes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The state’s DWI law is available under Minnesota Statute 169A.20<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Hawley Police Department also assisted during the incident.<\/p>\n
