Moorhead Hammer Assault Case: Fargo Woman Charged<\/h2>\n

Moorhead, Minnesota<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 A Fargo woman faces felony charges after an alleged hammer assault in Moorhead.<\/p>\n

Baily Crissler, 25, is charged with second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon.<\/p>\n

The charge is a felony, according to a complaint filed in Clay County District Court.<\/p>\n

Crissler also faces a misdemeanor count of fifth-degree assault.<\/p>\n

The case stems from an August 14 confrontation at a home on 5th Street South.<\/p>\n

Police Respond to Early Morning Assault<\/h2>\n

Moorhead police were called to the home at about 2:40 a.m.<\/p>\n

The injured woman told police she went there after not hearing from her boyfriend.<\/p>\n

She said Crissler arrived shortly afterward.<\/p>\n

According to the complaint, the women had a connection through the same man.<\/p>\n

The woman said Crissler told her the man wanted to talk with her.<\/p>\n

She said she considered the relationship over and did not want to hear excuses.<\/p>\n

The woman told police Crissler became upset and began threatening her.<\/p>\n

She said Crissler grabbed her hair when she stood up to leave.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Crissler then forced the woman’s head downward.<\/p>\n

The woman alleged Crissler struck her head several times with a hammer.<\/p>\n

She told police she did not see the hammer before being struck.<\/p>\n

She also alleged Crissler punched her face and struck her hip.<\/p>\n

Woman Taken to Fargo Hospital<\/h2>\n

Police reported seeing a large bump on the woman’s head.<\/p>\n

They also reported blood on her face and a swollen, bloodied lip.<\/p>\n

Visible injuries were also reported on both of her forearms.<\/p>\n

The woman was taken to a Fargo hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n

Crissler Gives Different Account<\/h2>\n

Crissler later spoke with police by telephone, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

She said the other woman became upset after learning the relationship had ended.<\/p>\n

Crissler alleged the woman struck her nose and the back of her head.<\/p>\n

She said she drove herself to a hospital for medical care.<\/p>\n

Police asked Crissler to meet with investigators in person.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Crissler questioned the request before ending the call.<\/p>\n

Police said she did not answer later attempts to contact her.<\/p>\n

Crissler is being held at the Clay County Jail.<\/p>\n
