Cass Lake Teen Homicide: Dylon Oothoudt Identified<\/h2>\n

Cass Lake, Minnesota<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 Dylon Ray Oothoudt, 17, of Walker, has been identified as the victim of a Cass County homicide.<\/p>\n

The Cass County Sheriff\u2019s Office said Oothoudt died from a gunshot wound.<\/p>\n

An autopsy was completed by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

The medical examiner ruled the death a homicide.<\/p>\n

Investigators have not announced any arrests in the case.<\/p>\n

The investigation remains active.<\/p>\n

Teen Found Dead Near Cass Lake<\/h2>\n

Oothoudt was found on Sunday, September 13, in Pike Bay Township.<\/p>\n

The location is in rural Cass Lake.<\/p>\n

The sheriff\u2019s office received an ambulance request at about 7:57 a.m.<\/p>\n

The request followed a report of a possibly deceased person.<\/p>\n

Medical crews and law enforcement officers responded to John Moose Drive NW.<\/p>\n

They found Oothoudt dead in the yard of a residence.<\/p>\n

Authorities began an investigation at the scene.<\/p>\n

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting with the case.<\/p>\n

Community Holds Candlelight Vigil<\/h2>\n

Community members gathered September 15 for a candlelight vigil honoring Oothoudt.<\/p>\n

The event was called \u201cBlackout Against Gun Violence.\u201d<\/p>\n

Organizers asked people to wear black and light candles.<\/p>\n

Participants also offered prayers and words of support for Oothoudt\u2019s family and friends.<\/p>\n

The gathering called for peace, healing and strength.<\/p>\n

The vigil came as investigators continued reviewing information connected to the case.<\/p>\n

Authorities Ask Public for Information<\/h2>\n

Authorities have asked anyone with information to contact the Cass County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n
