The owner later told investigators he suspected Quarve and Rylee Allen Mehtala.<\/p>\n
He also reported the truck might be at Michael Paul Johnson’s property near Barnesville.<\/p>\n
Investigators visited that property on April 28, 2026.<\/p>\n
A truck matching the stolen Ford was visible from a nearby road.<\/p>\n
The complaint says the truck was missing its doors and hood.<\/p>\n
Large portions of the engine were also missing.<\/p>\n
Investigators checked the vehicle identification number.<\/p>\n
The VIN matched the Ford reported stolen in Fargo.<\/p>\n
Parts Allegedly Removed From Truck<\/h2>\n
Johnson told investigators that Quarve and Mehtala brought the truck to his property.<\/p>\n
He said they began removing tires and other parts from the vehicle.<\/p>\n
Johnson said Quarve claimed the truck came from Facebook Marketplace.<\/p>\n
Johnson also alleged the truck was heavily damaged and shot with a gun.<\/p>\n
Investigators later contacted Mehtala and Quarve at another location.<\/p>\n
Mehtala denied being involved with the stolen truck.<\/p>\n
Quarve also said he knew nothing about the vehicle, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n
Truck Later Found in Ditch<\/h2>\n
Authorities planned to remove the stolen truck from Johnson’s property.<\/p>\n
However, the truck was gone the following day.<\/p>\n
It was located in a ditch near Barnesville on April 29.<\/p>\n
The location was about four miles from where investigators previously saw it.<\/p>\n
Investigators later obtained phone records connected to Quarve and Mehtala.<\/p>\n
The complaint says both phones used the same cell towers that night.<\/p>\n
Those towers covered areas connected to the truck’s movement.<\/p>\n
Felony Charge Filed<\/h2>\n
