A Clay County District Court complaint lists one gross misdemeanor and one misdemeanor charge.<\/p>\n
The case is filed as 14-CR-26-2341 in Minnesota’s Seventh Judicial District.<\/p>\n
Shots Reported Near Glyndon<\/h2>\n
Authorities responded near 120th Street South around 8:51 p.m.<\/p>\n
A caller reported hearing several gunshots and seeing a vehicle traveling around nearby gravel roads.<\/p>\n
The caller first reported two shots, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n
About five additional shots were later heard from another nearby road.<\/p>\n
Authorities located a pickup truck that was the only vehicle seen in the area.<\/p>\n
The truck later stopped at a Glyndon address.<\/p>\n
Ryan Montana Rahr exited from the rear passenger side, according to the filing.<\/p>\n
Michael Slette was identified as the driver.<\/p>\n
Logan Tucker was identified as another passenger.<\/p>\n
The men allegedly told investigators that uncased firearms were inside the pickup.<\/p>\n
Rahr Describes Shooting<\/h2>\n
The complaint says Rahr showed signs of alcohol use while speaking with investigators.<\/p>\n
Rahr allegedly said he had consumed a couple of beers.<\/p>\n
He told investigators the group stopped along the road to shoot at a jackrabbit.<\/p>\n
Rahr allegedly said everyone took turns using a .22-caliber rifle.<\/p>\n
He said the rifle did not belong to him.<\/p>\n
Rahr also allegedly said he had two pistols inside the truck.<\/p>\n
Authorities found two pistols under the seat where Rahr had been sitting.<\/p>\n
One was a .22-caliber revolver with six unused cartridges.<\/p>\n
The second was an automatic pistol with ammunition in its magazine.<\/p>\n
Guns, Ammunition and Alcohol Found<\/h2>\n
Slette allegedly admitted using the .22 rifle and claimed ownership of several long guns.<\/p>\n
Tucker also allegedly admitted shooting at the jackrabbit.<\/p>\n
Authorities reported finding several types of loose ammunition inside the vehicle.<\/p>\n
Spent .22-caliber casings were also found, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n
The filing says the casings appeared consistent with shots fired from inside the pickup.<\/p>\n
Investigators also reported finding several open alcoholic beverage containers.<\/p>\n
They included Twisted Tea cans, a Michelob Ultra can, and a partially empty liqueur bottle.<\/p>\n
Two Charges Filed<\/h2>\n
Rahr faces a gross misdemeanor firearm charge under Minnesota Statute 624.7181<\/a>.<\/p>\n The complaint lists a maximum sentence of 364 days in jail.<\/p>\n It also lists a possible fine of up to $3,000.<\/p>\n Rahr also faces an open-bottle charge under Minnesota Statute 169A.35<\/a>.<\/p>\n That misdemeanor carries up to 90 days in jail.<\/p>\n It also carries a possible fine of up to $1,000.<\/p>\n The charges are allegations and do not establish guilt.<\/p>\n Rahr is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n Readers can search public cases through the Minnesota Judicial Branch<\/a>.<\/p>\n I’m Adrian Cole reporting for TRF News<\/a>.<\/p>\n
