Parkers Prairie Gun Range Visit Leads to Firearm Charge<\/h2>\n

Parkers Prairie (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>)<\/strong> \u2014 Joshua James Stone faces a firearm charge in Otter Tail County District Court.<\/p>\n

The criminal complaint accuses Stone of possessing and firing a black powder firearm on September 7, 2026.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors charged Stone with being an ineligible person in possession of a firearm.<\/p>\n

The charge is listed as a gross misdemeanor under Minnesota Statute 624.713.<\/p>\n

A conviction could carry up to 364 days in jail and a $3,000 fine.<\/p>\n

Gun Range Visit Described In Complaint<\/h2>\n

The complaint says Stone was seen at a gun range in Parkers Prairie.<\/p>\n

A correctional officer allegedly saw Stone firing a black powder shotgun equipped with a scope.<\/p>\n

The officer also reported seeing Stone walk downrange to check his target.<\/p>\n

The incident was later reported to Stone’s probation agent, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Two days later, Stone attended treatment programming and contacted his probation agent.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Stone asked whether he was in trouble for firing the black powder firearm.<\/p>\n

Stone allegedly said he had gone shooting with his father at the Parkers Prairie range.<\/p>\n

He also allegedly admitted driving his father and the firearm to the range.<\/p>\n

Stone reportedly told the agent he operated the firearm while they were there.<\/p>\n

According to prosecutors, Stone said others had told him he could legally use the weapon.<\/p>\n

Prior Felony Convictions Cited<\/h2>\n

The complaint cites Stone’s previous felony convictions as the basis for the new firearm charge.<\/p>\n

Stone was convicted in Douglas County in November 2021, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

One conviction involved possession of pornographic work involving minors.<\/p>\n

A second conviction involved electronic solicitation of a child.<\/p>\n

The complaint says Stone received prison sentences in both cases.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors allege those felony convictions made Stone ineligible to possess the firearm.<\/p>\n
