He allegedly struck his own head against a patrol vehicle during the struggle.<\/p>\n

The affidavit says Pierce continued trying to hurt himself until additional help arrived.<\/p>\n
Threats Allegedly Made During Arrest<\/h2>\n
The filing says Pierce told law enforcement he wanted to die.<\/p>\n
He then allegedly threatened the deputy and the deputy’s family.<\/p>\n
Pierce allegedly said he would go to the deputy’s home after leaving jail.<\/p>\n
The affidavit says he also threatened other people at the scene.<\/p>\n
Pierce allegedly claimed he had connections to a Mexican drug cartel.<\/p>\n
He allegedly said the cartel would carry out the threats if he did not.<\/p>\n
Security Video Records Four Shots<\/h2>\n
Investigators found one shell casing in Pierce’s yard, according to the court filing.<\/p>\n
However, home security video reportedly captured the sound of four gunshots.<\/p>\n
The filing also describes an encounter at a nearby home after the reported shooting.<\/p>\n
Pierce allegedly approached a neighbor’s door while carrying a gun.<\/p>\n
He knocked on the door and said he needed help, according to investigators.<\/p>\n
Several people were inside the home at the time, including children.<\/p>\n
Pierce Taken to Fargo Hospital<\/h2>\n
Pierce was transported by ambulance to a Fargo hospital following the incident.<\/p>\n
The affidavit says his blood alcohol concentration tested at 0.123.<\/p>\n
A drug screening was negative, according to court records.<\/p>\n
After receiving medical care, Pierce was booked into the Cass County Jail.<\/p>\n
Documents list charges of discharging a firearm within city limits and resisting arrest.<\/p>\n
He also faces hindering law enforcement and two counts of terrorizing.<\/p>\n
