Authorities later located his GMC Sierra at a Circle K convenience store in Roseau.<\/p>\n
The pickup’s headlights and taillights were on when officers arrived around 10:57 p.m.<\/p>\n
Olson was found inside the store with the vehicle keys, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n
Investigators say a bag containing suspected methamphetamine was found inside Olson’s shirt pocket.<\/p>\n
The complaint says Olson also repeatedly moved his jaw while speaking with officers.<\/p>\n
Authorities described that behavior as consistent with controlled substance use.<\/p>\n
Because Olson had an active warrant, he was taken into custody.<\/p>\n
Surveillance Video Shows Vehicle Arrive<\/h2>\n
Investigators later reviewed surveillance video from the Circle K.<\/p>\n
The footage allegedly showed Olson’s pickup arriving around 10:54 p.m.<\/p>\n
The driver then exited the truck and walked into the store.<\/p>\n
The complaint says no other occupants were seen inside the vehicle.<\/p>\n
Authorities say the suspected methamphetamine weighed approximately .89 grams.<\/p>\n
A field test allegedly returned a positive result for methamphetamine.<\/p>\n
Urine Test Returns Positive Results<\/h2>\n
Authorities obtained a search warrant for a blood or urine sample.<\/p>\n
Olson provided a urine sample shortly after midnight on September 7.<\/p>\n
The complaint says the sample tested positive for methamphetamine, amphetamines, and bupropion.<\/p>\n
Prosecutors also allege Olson violated a restriction on his driver’s license.<\/p>\n
The restriction prohibits driving after using alcohol or controlled substances.<\/p>\n
Three Prior DWI Convictions Cited<\/h2>\n
The complaint lists three prior DWI convictions within the last ten years.<\/p>\n
Those convictions occurred in 2017 and twice in 2022.<\/p>\n
Prosecutors cite those prior convictions as aggravating factors supporting the felony DWI charge.<\/p>\n
The complaint also lists a 2021 felony motor vehicle theft conviction.<\/p>\n
