Driving Complaint Leads To Traffic Stop<\/h2>\n
According to the complaint, authorities received a driving complaint around 7:13 p.m. on August 23, 2026.<\/p>\n
The caller reported a black Honda Pilot traveling east on County Road 2.<\/p>\n
The caller said the vehicle nearly struck other vehicles on the highway.<\/p>\n
Authorities later stopped the Honda on County Road 12 near 470th Avenue.<\/p>\n
The complaint says officers noticed an odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle.<\/p>\n
They also described Samson as sluggish and having trouble locating documents.<\/p>\n
Samson denied drinking alcohol, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n
Investigators reported seeing droopy eyelids, slow speech, and slow movements.<\/p>\n
Infant Found Inside Vehicle<\/h2>\n
Authorities determined a 15-month-old infant was inside the Honda.<\/p>\n
Samson was allowed to contact another person to take custody of the child.<\/p>\n
The complaint says Samson then participated in field sobriety tests.<\/p>\n
Investigators reported several signs they believed showed impairment.<\/p>\n
Those included balance problems and indicators observed during an eye test.<\/p>\n
Samson refused a preliminary breath test at the scene, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n
Breath Test Refusal Alleged<\/h2>\n
Samson was arrested and transported to the Roseau County Detention Center.<\/p>\n
At the jail, she was given a breath test advisory.<\/p>\n
The complaint says Samson refused to provide the requested breath sample.<\/p>\n
She instead requested a blood test.<\/p>\n
Authorities considered her refusal to take the requested breath test a test refusal.<\/p>\n
The original caller later described the vehicle crossing road lines several times.<\/p>\n
The caller also reported changing speeds and driving onto the gravel shoulder.<\/p>\n
Three Gross Misdemeanor Charges Filed<\/h2>\n
