Woman Reports Alleged Strangulation<\/h2>\n
According to the complaint, a woman approached law enforcement around 7 a.m. on July 16, 2026.<\/p>\n
She reported that Croaker had assaulted and strangled her at a Cass Lake residence.<\/p>\n
The woman told investigators she had recently been in a relationship with Croaker.<\/p>\n
She said an argument began after Croaker started looking through her phone.<\/p>\n
The woman then tried to call her sister for a ride.<\/p>\n
Prosecutors allege Croaker began choking her during the argument.<\/p>\n
The complaint says Croaker pushed her onto a bed.<\/p>\n
He allegedly placed both hands around her neck while holding her down.<\/p>\n
The woman said she felt close to losing consciousness.<\/p>\n
She also reported pain and fear that she would black out.<\/p>\n
Complaint Describes Visible Injuries<\/h2>\n
The complaint says Croaker eventually stopped and ordered the woman from the home.<\/p>\n
He allegedly pushed her outside and threw her belongings from the residence.<\/p>\n
Investigators reported seeing fresh bruising on her shoulder and neck.<\/p>\n
The complaint says those injuries appeared consistent with her account of being choked.<\/p>\n
The woman also reported scraping her arm after being pushed to the ground.<\/p>\n
Law enforcement later accompanied her back to the residence.<\/p>\n
She gathered her belongings before receiving transportation away from the area.<\/p>\n
Officers did not make contact with Croaker at that time.<\/p>\n
Prior Domestic Assault Conviction Cited<\/h2>\n
Prosecutors also cited a previous domestic assault conviction involving Croaker.<\/p>\n
The complaint says he was convicted in Cass County on July 12, 2021.<\/p>\n
That conviction is listed under court file 11-CR-20-1937.<\/p>\n
Prosecutors say the prior case supports the new gross misdemeanor domestic assault charge.<\/p>\n
The felony strangulation charge carries up to three years in prison.<\/p>\n
It also carries a possible fine of up to $5,000.<\/p>\n
The gross misdemeanor carries up to 364 days in jail.<\/p>\n
It also carries a possible $3,000 fine.<\/p>\n
