Pelican Rapids Woman Killed in Highway 59 Crash<\/h2>\n

Otter Tail County (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>)<\/strong> \u2014 A Pelican Rapids woman died Sunday after two cars collided on Highway 59.<\/p>\n

Basro Hassan Abokar, 51, of Pelican Rapids suffered fatal injuries in the September 6 crash.<\/p>\n

Jacob Lee Thatcher, 25, of Fergus Falls suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening.<\/p>\n

The crash happened around 4:50 p.m. near milepost 235 in Erhards Grove Township.<\/p>\n

Vehicles Collide on Highway 59<\/h2>\n

The Minnesota State Patrol said Thatcher was driving a 2015 Volkswagen Passat south on Highway 59.<\/p>\n

Abokar was driving a 2004 Buick Regal north on the highway.<\/p>\n

The two vehicles collided, according to the State Patrol.<\/p>\n

The public report did not provide further details about how the collision occurred.<\/p>\n

Road conditions were wet at the time of the crash.<\/p>\n

Abokar was wearing a seat belt, according to the report.<\/p>\n

The Buick’s airbag did not deploy.<\/p>\n
