RED LAKE, Minn.<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 Federal agents searched a Red Lake Nation child welfare facility on Thursday, Sept. 10.<\/p>\n

The Federal Bureau of Investigation<\/a> confirmed agents served a search warrant at the facility.<\/p>\n

Agents from the Bureau of Indian Affairs<\/a> also took part in the operation.<\/p>\n

The search happened at Ombimindwaa Gidinawemaaganinaadog on the Red Lake reservation in northern Minnesota.<\/p>\n

The facility was formerly known as Red Lake Family and Children Services.<\/p>\n

Federal agents execute search warrant<\/h2>\n

An FBI spokesperson confirmed the search warrant was carried out Thursday.<\/p>\n

Authorities have not released details about what investigators were seeking.<\/p>\n

No arrests were made during the search, according to the FBI.<\/p>\n

Federal officials also have not announced any criminal charges connected with the investigation.<\/p>\n

The FBI said it could not provide further details because the investigation remains active.<\/p>\n

It was not immediately clear how long investigators were at the facility.<\/p>\n

Officials also did not say whether any records, computers, or other property were taken.<\/p>\n

Red Lake Nation responds<\/h2>\n

The Red Lake Tribal Council<\/a> released a statement after the federal search.<\/p>\n

The council said the Red Lake Nation will continue cooperating with federal and tribal law enforcement partners.<\/p>\n

Tribal leaders also said they will continue protecting the Nation’s sovereignty and community.<\/p>\n

The council said there is no known threat to public safety.<\/p>\n

Community members were asked to remain patient while investigators continue their work.<\/p>\n

Investigation remains ongoing<\/h2>\n

Authorities have not announced what prompted the search warrant.<\/p>\n

They also have not identified anyone as a suspect in the investigation.<\/p>\n

No information has been released about possible charges or future court proceedings.<\/p>\n

The FBI’s Minneapolis Field Office oversees federal investigations across Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota.<\/p>\n

Red Lake Nation officials have not announced whether normal operations at the child welfare facility were affected.<\/p>\n
