Thief River Falls Woman Sentenced in Assault Cases<\/h2>\n

Thief River Falls (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>)<\/strong> \u2014 Jessica Lynn Meier, 38, has been sentenced for three offenses.<\/p>\n

Meier was sentenced for two fourth-degree assault offenses.<\/p>\n

She was also sentenced for making an emergency call when no emergency existed.<\/p>\n

Three other charges against Meier were dismissed.<\/p>\n

Stayed Jail Terms Ordered<\/h2>\n

For the first fourth-degree assault offense, Meier received a 364-day jail sentence.<\/p>\n

The court stayed 361 days for two years.<\/p>\n

She received credit for three days already served.<\/p>\n

Meier was also placed on supervised probation for two years.<\/p>\n

She must follow all recommendations connected to her civil commitment.<\/p>\n

Meier was ordered to pay $210.<\/p>\n

For the second fourth-degree assault offense, she received another 364-day jail sentence.<\/p>\n

Again, 361 days were stayed for two years.<\/p>\n

Meier received credit for three days served.<\/p>\n

Meier was also sentenced for making an emergency call when no emergency existed.<\/p>\n

She received a 90-day jail sentence for that offense.<\/p>\n

The court stayed 87 days for one year.<\/p>\n

Meier again received credit for three days served.<\/p>\n

She was placed on supervised probation for one year.<\/p>\n

The court also ordered her to follow recommendations from her civil commitment.<\/p>\n

Meier was ordered to pay $50 on the emergency-call offense.<\/p>\n

Three Charges Dismissed<\/h2>\n

Another fourth-degree assault charge against Meier was dismissed.<\/p>\n

Two charges of obstructing arrest were also dismissed.<\/p>\n

Those dismissed charges did not result in convictions or sentences.<\/p>\n

Minnesota Statute 609.2231<\/a> covers fourth-degree assault offenses.<\/p>\n
