Grand Forks (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 An employee at Valley Middle School was arrested after a report of possible sexual misconduct involving students.<\/p>\n

What the police say<\/h2>\n

Grand Forks police said they got a report on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Police said a staff member tried to get sexually explicit images from students.<\/p>\n

Officers said the investigation continued through the weekend.<\/p>\n

Arrest and possible charge<\/h2>\n

Police served a search warrant at a Grand Forks home at about 11 a.m. Monday.<\/p>\n

Police said the search and earlier work led to an arrest.<\/p>\n

Malaun Nelson<\/strong>, 31, of Grand Forks, was taken into custody, police said.<\/p>\n

Police said Nelson worked as a classroom specialist at Valley Middle School<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Police sent a proposed charge to the State\u2019s Attorney for review.<\/p>\n

The charge is promoting or directing an obscene sexual performance by a minor.<\/p>\n

Police described it as a Class A felony.<\/p>\n

Grand Forks County prosecutors will decide what charges, if any, are filed.<\/p>\n

Nelson is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.<\/p>\n

Police said the Grand Forks Public Schools<\/a> district was told about the report.<\/p>\n

Police said the district has worked with investigators during the case.<\/p>\n

Possible additional victims<\/h2>\n

Police said they believe there may be more victims.<\/p>\n

They said some students may not have been identified yet.<\/p>\n
