Twin Valley: Stodola Faces Felony Assault Charge<\/h2>\n

TWIN VALLEY, Minn.<\/strong> (trfnews.i234.me<\/a>) \u2014 Michael James Dion Stodola faces felony and misdemeanor assault charges after a reported fight.<\/p>\n

Stodola, 23, is charged in Norman County District Court file 54-CR-26-270.<\/p>\n

The charges stem from an alleged Sept. 2, 2026, fight in Twin Valley.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors filed third-degree and fifth-degree assault charges.<\/p>\n

Fight Reported at Twin Valley Home<\/h2>\n

The complaint says law enforcement responded to a report of an active fight.<\/p>\n

Dispatch advised that one person believed his jaw may have been broken.<\/p>\n

Police arrived and spoke with a man who said several people had been drinking together.<\/p>\n

The man reported that Dustin Lopez arrived and began starting a confrontation.<\/p>\n

A fight then broke out, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors allege Stodola punched the man in the face during the fight.<\/p>\n

Witness Describes Chokehold and Punches<\/h2>\n

A witness told investigators that Lopez allegedly struck a woman before the larger fight began.<\/p>\n

The injured man then confronted Lopez about the alleged assault.<\/p>\n

The witness said Lopez and Stodola brought the man to the ground.<\/p>\n

Stodola allegedly punched the man while he was being held down.<\/p>\n

The complaint also says another woman tried to break up the fight.<\/p>\n

She reported being struck during the disturbance.<\/p>\n

A second witness also told investigators she was hit during the fight.<\/p>\n

Loose Tooth Reported After Assault<\/h2>\n

Emergency medical workers treated the injured man at the scene.<\/p>\n

The complaint says one lower tooth was loose and partially out of its socket.<\/p>\n

The man was transported by ambulance to a hospital for further treatment.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors cite that injury as substantial bodily harm supporting the felony count.<\/p>\n

Stodola and Lopez had left before officers arrived, according to the complaint.<\/p>\n

Police were unable to locate them at the scene.<\/p>\n

Third-Degree Assault Charge<\/h2>\n

Count One charges Stodola under Minnesota Statute 609.223<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The law covers assault that causes substantial bodily harm.<\/p>\n

A conviction can carry up to five years in prison.<\/p>\n

A fine of up to $10,000 is also possible.<\/p>\n

Count Two alleges fifth-degree assault under Minnesota Statute 609.224<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The misdemeanor count carries up to 90 days in jail.<\/p>\n

A fine of up to $1,000 is also possible.<\/p>\n

These are maximum penalties and do not represent a sentence against Stodola.<\/p>\n
